Trail Manager
The Trail Manager is responsible for providing a long-term vision for the SMT trail network, and will work closely with SMT’s Trail Program Manager to plan, coordinate and carry out maintenance projects on trails within the system. This position will split time between planning, administrative, and field duties, with the majority of field hours taking place between March and November. This position will also support volunteer projects throughout the field season. Projects will range from new tread construction, technical rock work, raking, cleaning out drains, and everything in between.

Trail Technician
The Trail Technician will work closely with the SMT Trail Crew and Volunteers on various projects within the SMT trail network. Projects will range from technical rock work to cleaning out drains, and everything in between. The crew generally works on a 5-day, 40 hour week schedule (M-F) with occasional weekends and irregular work hours to accommodate volunteer events. The Trails Technician will spend roughly 30% of the total field days in 2026 working with volunteers, and 70% working independently or with the Trail Crew.
This position is contingent upon grant funding. SMT expects to know about funding status in February 2026.
