SMT manages more than 70 miles of singletrack around Salida. Help us maintain the trail network by becoming a volunteer Trail Steward! Trail Stewards work independently, on their own time, on a trail of their choosing. They’re also the first folks we call on for group trail work projects, and when we need a hand with emergency repairs. No experience required. SMT provides training and tools.
Poo Crew volunteers play an important role in keeping Salida's trailheads clean. Poo crew responsibilities include disposing of trash bags, and restocking dog bags and trash bags.

Be our eyes on the trail! SMT is partnering with GARNA to track and address conditions that negatively impact trail experiences, like trash and dog poop. Volunteering is as easy as walking/running/biking the trails and logging issues in an app.This initiative is part of the Chaffee Rec Adopter program.
