    Support local trails!

Since 2004, Salida Mountain Trails (SMT) has built and maintained 60+ miles of trails for people to walk, trot, jog, hike, bike and enjoy our beautiful valley. Salida has a strong sense of community, and that community—businesses (especially our sponsors), and the people who call this place home—generously provides critical support for our work.

Become an SMT member today, and give us more resources to expand and improve Salida’s trails!

Prefer to make a donation? You can give any amount to SMT here.

Interested in being a Corporate Sponsor? Please reach out to us first at info@salidamountaintrails.org and ask about the benefits of being a corporate sponsor. Corporate sponsors can donate here.

    Why become a member?

Put simply, mo’ money means mo’ trails which means mo’ fun for all of us! Trails cost money, averaging $3-$6 per linear foot. (Some sections require special attention, causing the cost to go much higher.) Your donation also covers operating expenses including trail tools, insurance, and food for our hardworking trail volunteers. And it allows us to bring in trail crews and machines to turbocharge the work of our amazing volunteers so we can create more trails in less time—and make even better trails, too.

A large and active membership also gives us a greater voice in working with land management agencies such as the City of Salida, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Forest Service (USFS) to plan more trails. In effect, your membership is a show of support for the importance and value of trails and public land!

    How it works

Instead of getting a paper membership card in the mail, you’ll get a digital one from Cardskipper, an app 400+ organizations worldwide use for membership management. (Your digital membership card will come via email a few days after your join/renew.)

It’s entirely free to use your membership card in the Cardskipper appIt takes 2 minutes to set up following instructions you’ll get in that email with your membership card. Regardless of whether or not you use Cardskipper, your membership will be valid for one year from the date you join/renew.

    Benefits

Please note: You must present your membership card (digital or print) at the time of purchase to receive the following discounts. This makes it easy for our business sponsors to verify membership, and makes it easy for them to provide these perks to members like you.

Also, don’t forget to support our Dine Out and Shop For Trails program too!

    Volunteer with SMT

You don’t have to be a member to volunteer with us on our trail work days. Our membership program provides a way for those who can’t necessarily work on trails to support our trails. Of course, we welcome and encourage trail volunteers to become members as well, and vice versa! Either way, it’s all about building and maintaining trails for the enjoyment of us all.
