Be prepared to turn around and pick another trail if you encounter bad mud.
RED – The trail is not open or using it may be damaging.
ORANGE – Variable conditions exist (snowy, icy, muddy, dry). Not recommended to use the trail; or use it in the morning when frozen if mud is an issue.
GREEN – Get out there!
Seasonal Closures
UPDATE: The U.S. Forest Service has extended the seasonal closure on Beasway due to snow/mud. We’ll monitor conditions and announce an opening date as soon as possible.

Seasonal closures are now in effect through April 15 on several Methodist Mountain trails, and through March 15 on Beasway, to protect important habitat that wildlife need to survive the winter. Pregnant deer and elk are particularly sensitive to disturbances, and stand a better chance of survival when the habitat is free of interactions with humans and pets.
